Purpose of competition
To recognise outstanding achievement in how companies behave towards the environment, the local community, their people and supply chain.

Judging criteria
The judges will award merit for:

A clear mission and policies relating to responsible business practice across the four areas of environment, community, people and suppliers.
Evidence of contribution to the overall well-being of the community, its environment and general quality of life.
Projects that can demonstrate working in partnership to achieve long-term sustainability.
Projects which contribute to the economic regeneration of the region.
Using positive influence to support suppliers and other partners to adopt best environmental, workplace and community practice.

Eligibility
The competition is open to businesses of any size, including sole traders. The competition is not open to the category sponsors or Trinity Mirror North East publications.

All financial information will be treated in the strictest confidence and will not be disclosed to anyone other than the panel of judges and its advisors. Please provide enough relevant information to enable the assessors to form a clear picture of your achievements.
