Purpose of competition
This award is designed to encourage innovation and the use of technology.

Judging criteria
The judging panel is looking for companies that can demonstrate the development or exploitation of novel technology leading to a product or service. Particular attention will be paid to evidence of existing commercial successor-likely potential.

Eligibility
The competition is not open to the category sponsors or Trinity Mirror North East publications.
